The famous spaghetti dinner scene.

Lady and the Tramp is probably one of the most charming and feel good Disney films ever made. Even though it was released over 50 years ago (1955), the dinner scene from Lady and the Tramp is still one of the sweetest onscreen kisses ever put on film. Seriously, it's up there with Bergman/Grant and Bogey/Bacall. In case you are unfamiliar with Lady and the Tramp, I'm referring to the scene where pampered purebred Lady shares a plate of spaghetti in an alley behind an Italian cafe with streetwise Tramp. In the scene they unknowingly slurp the same strand of spaghetti and suddenly find their mouths meeting in a surprise kiss.

Bambi & Faline

In a forest thicket, a doe gives birth to a fawn whom she names Bambi. After he learns to walk, Bambi befriends Thumper, a young rabbit; then, while learning to talk, Bambi meets a young skunk whom he calls "Flower" (the skunk says that he does not mind this name at all, and the infant Bambi says, "Flower, pretty Flower").

After Bambi has completely learned how to talk, his mother takes him to the meadow, a place that is both wonderful and frightening' Bambi's mother warns him that deer are unprotected in the meadow as there are no trees or bushes to hide them, so they must take great care for their own safety. In the meadow, Bambi meets the female fawn Faline, her mother, Aunt Ena, and his own father, the Great Prince of the Forest. Crows suddenly begin to caw, startling all the animals to flee the meadow; Bambi struggles against the rushing animals, trying to find his mother, but his father arrives just in time to press Bambi and his mother out of the meadow before a hunter can shoot them. When Bambi asks why they all ran, his mother explains that "Man was in the forest".

During a harsh winter, Thumper teaches Bambi how to slide on ice. One day at the end of winter, Bambi and his mother go to the meadow and discover a patch of new grass, heralding the arrival of spring. As they eat, his mother senses a hunter and orders Bambi to flee. As they run, gun shots ring out. When Bambi arrives at their thicket, he discovers his mother is no longer with him. He wanders the forest calling for her, but she does not answer. His father appears in front of him and tells Bambi, "Your mother can't be with you anymore" (implying that she has been killed by hunters), then leads him away.

In the spring, an adult Bambi is reunited with Thumper and Flower as the animals around them begin pairing up with mates. Though they resolve not to be "twitterpated" like the other animals in love, Thumper and Flower each leave with newly found mates. Bambi is disgusted, until he runs into Faline and they become a couple. As they happily dance and flirt through the woods, another buck, Ronno, appears who tries to force Faline to go with him. Though he initially struggles, Bambi's rage gives him the strength to defeat Ronno and push him off a cliff and into a river below.

That night, Bambi and Faline continue to go through the woods dancing and flirting. Then the next morning, Bambi is awoken by the smell of smoke and the blowing of a horn. His father explains that Man has returned to the forest in greater numbers, and they must flee. When crows caw, Faline is awakened and searches for Bambi. Bambi goes back to search for Faline, but she is gone. While searching for Bambi, Faline is being chased by hunting dogs, and takes refuge on a cliff ledge. Bambi finds her in time and fights off the dogs, allowing Faline to escape. With Faline safe, Bambi kills the hunting dogs after kicking several rocks onto them, then runs but then Bambi is shot as he leaps over a ravine. The Great Prince finds him there and urges him back to his feet, when at the same time, a forest fire begins. Together, they escape the forest fire and go to a small island in a lake where the other animals, including Faline, have taken refuge.

At the end of the film, Faline gives birth to twin fawns a boy and a girl, Bambi stands watch on the large hill, and the Great Prince silently turns and walks away, while Bambi looks on proudly watching on his newborn children, just as his father did to him at his own birth

Simba & Nala

The film opens with a gathering of a large number of animals around Pride Rock in Africa, where a wise mandrill, Rafiki, presents Simba, the newborn son of the lion King and Queen, Mufasa and Sarabi. The only resident of the Pride Lands who is displeased with the birth of this heir is Mufasa's younger brother, Scar, who seeks the throne for himself. As Simba grows up, he is taught about the Pride Lands, including the neighboring Outlands, ruled by ruthless hyenas and off limits for residents of the Pride Lands. Simba, however, turns out to be a colorful prankster who would rather play with his best friend, Nala, than listen to the lessons Mufasa's hornbill majordomo, Zazu, attempts to teach him. When Scar tells Simba about an elephant graveyard in the Outlands, Simba and Nala outsmart Zazu and venture out into the Outlands where they come upon three hyenas, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, who try to kill them in the ensuing chase. Mufasa arrives to rescue the cubs in time, after being alerted by Zazu, and talks with Simba about how he shouldn't go looking for trouble just to show how brave he is. When Simba asks if Mufasa will always be there for him, Mufasa teaches Simba about the stars, saying that they represent all the great kings of the past that watch down on them. He tells Simba that whenever he feels alone, to remember that they are there to guide him.

Meanwhile, Scar plots with the hyenas to kill both Mufasa and Simba and to take over the Pride Lands. On Scar's orders, the hyenas trap Simba in a narrow gorge during a dangerous stampede of wildebeest. Scar informs Mufasa of Simba's predicament, and Mufasa successfully rescues Simba, throwing him clear of the gorge. However, as Mufasa attempts to exit the gorge himself by climbing its walls, Scar refuses Mufasa's requests for assistance, and instead throws him back into the gorge, resulting in Mufasa's death. Simba, upon later finding his father's corpse, is tricked by Scar into believing that Mufasa's death resulted from Simba's carelessness. Ashamed, Simba flees the Pride Lands, intending never to return. Scar orders the hyenas to follow and kill Simba, but Simba escapes. In Simba's absence, Scar proclaims him dead, and declares himself as ruler of the Pride Lands.

Simba collapses in the wasteland after his escape, but is found by Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog. The duo nurse him back to health and take him in, teaching him the ways of their motto, "Hakuna Matata" Years later, once Simba is an adult, he encounters Nala, who was trying to maul Timon and Pumbaa. Nala expresses her delight at discovering Simba alive, and informs him of how Scar's irresponsibility as King of the Pride Lands is going to drive everyone into starvation and eventual death. Still wracked with guilt over supposedly causing his father's death, Simba refuses to return and overthrow Scar. The wise Rafiki tracks Simba down and, with the aid of a brief glimpse of a ghostly image of Mufasa in the sky, convinces Simba to return home and take his place as king.

Simba returns to Pride Rock with Nala, Timon and Pumbaa. While Timon and Pumbaa distract the hyena guardians, Simba finally confronts Scar on Pride Rock. Scar turns the tables by stating that Simba caused Mufasa's demise and forces Simba towards the edge of Pride Rock, where he holds on for dear life as lightning sets fire to Pride Rock. Just before Scar can throw Simba off, he quietly reveals that he killed Mufasa. Enraged, Simba leaps back up and pins Scar, forcing him to reveal his actions to the pride. The truth now revealed, a fight ensues between the hyenas and lionesses while Simba confronts Scar alone at the top of Pride Rock. Scar begs Simba for mercy, accusing the hyenas of planning the whole thing. Because Simba is not a killer like Scar, he prepares to show Scar mercy and exile him, but as soon as he gives in, Scar blindsides him with an attack by throwing burning embers in his face and pounces on Simba. The ensuing fight ends after Simba throws Scar off the cliff. Scar survives the fall, but is attacked and implied to be killed by the hyenas, who overheard his attempt to betray them.

With Scar now gone and the hyenas banished, the fire is put out as it starts to rain. Simba comes down and is greeted by his mother and Nala. When Rafiki calls him over, he bows to Simba, who then pulls him into a hug and then walks up to the edge of Pride Rock as everyone watches in awe. Once at the edge, Simba looks up into the sky and hears Mufasa telling him again to remember. Knowing now that he has finally found his place in the circle of life, Simba lets out a powerful roar to which all the lionesses join in. In time, Pride Rock is restored to it's former glory and Simba looks down happily at his kingdom with Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa by his side. The film ends as Rafiki presents Simba and Nala's newborn cub.

Tod & Vixey

A young red fox is orphaned after his mother is shot and killed by hunters. Big Mama (Pearl Bailey) the owl, along with her two friends Boomer (Paul Winchell) the woodpecker, and Dinky (Dick Bakalyan) the finch, arrange for him to be adopted by Widow Tweed (Jeanette Nolan), who names him Tod (Keith Mitchell). Meanwhile, her neighbor Amos Slade (Jack Albertson) brings home a young coonhound puppy named Copper (Corey Feldman), and introduces him to his old hunting dog Chief (Pat Buttram) to be his guardian.

One day, when Tod is unable to find someone to play with, he wanders off chasing a butterfly. At the same time, Copper starts smelling something strange, and wanders off sniffing until he encounters Tod as its source. After a brief introduction between the two, Tod and Copper become playmates and form a friendship to which they vow will last forever. But when Slade becomes frustrated at Copper's wandering, he places him on a leash. Undeterred, Tod decides to play with Copper at home, but wakes up Chief and Slade, who chase after him. Tweed intervenes, but Slade issues a stern warning that he will shoot Tod if he trespasses again. Hunting season soon comes and Slade takes his dogs into the wilderness for the interim. Meanwhile, Big Mama explains to Tod that his friendship with Copper cannot continue, as they were bred to be enemies, but he refuses to believe her.

Months pass and Tod and Copper reach adulthood; Copper has become an experienced hunting dog, while Tod has grown into a handsome fox. On the night of Copper's return, Tod (Mickey Rooney) sneaks over to meet him. Copper (Kurt Russell) explains that while he still values him as a friend, things are different now. Chief awakens and alerts Slade, and another chase ensues. However, Copper, not wanting to see him killed, lets Tod go and then diverts Chief and Slade so he can escape. Unfortunately, Chief maintains his pursuit and chases Tod onto a railroad bridge, where Chief falls and is grievously injured. Enraged, Copper blames Tod for the accident and swears vengeance. Slade also blames Tod, leading Tweed to realize that her pet is no longer safe with her. She thus leaves him at a game preserve that restricts hunting. Slade and Copper notice this, however, and plan for poaching Tod.

The next morning, Big Mama finds Tod and introduces him to a female fox named Vixey (Sandy Duncan), whom he takes an immediate liking to; the feeling becomes mutual, and she helps him adapt to life in the forest. Slade and Copper later break into the preserve and begin poaching Tod, and although the pair eventually find him and Vixey, their lengthy pursuit culminates in an attack from a bear. Slade trips and is caught in one of his own traps, dropping his gun just out of reach. Copper fights the bear and is soon overwhelmed, but before the bear can finish him, Tod quickly intervenes and continues to battle the bear until they both fall down a waterfall. The bear is killed, while Tod survives, but is worn to an inch of his life.

Copper approaches Tod as he recovers, stunned by his heroism in spite of current events. Slade arrives and prepares to shoot him, but Copper quickly interposes his body over Tod, refusing to move. Touched by the act, Slade lowers his gun and leaves with Copper, but not before the two friends share one last smile. Back home, Tweed nurses Slade back to health while the dogs rest. Copper, before falling asleep, smiles as he remembers the day when he and Tod became best friends. On a distant cliff top, Vixey joins Tod as he looks down at the scene from afar.

Ariel & Eric

Ariel, a sixteen-year-old mermaid princess, is dissatisfied with life under the sea and curious about the human world. With her best fish friend Flounder, Ariel collects human artifacts and goes to the surface of the ocean to visit Scuttle the seagull, who offers very inaccurate and comical knowledge of human culture. Ignoring the warnings of her father (King Triton) and court musician (Sebastian, the crab) that contact between merpeople and humans is forbidden (the sea's primary contact with humans involve fishermen, so King Triton considers humans as nothing more than mere predators), Ariel still longs to be part of the human world; to this end she has filled a secret grotto with all the human artifacts she has found. ("Part of Your World") Sebastian, who is assigned to watch over Ariel and be sure she does not visit the surface again, tries to convince her that its better to live under the sea than in the human world ("Under the Sea").

One night, Ariel, Flounder and an unwilling Sebastian travel to the ocean surface to watch a celebration for the birthday of Prince Eric, with whom Ariel falls in love. A sudden storm hits, during which everyone manages to escape in a lifeboat-except for Eric who goes back to rescue his dog Max. He almost drowns saving Max but is saved by Ariel, who drags him to the beach. Although said by Scuttle to not have a pulse, Ariel notices that Eric is breathing. She sings to him but dives underwater when Max returns to Eric. Upon waking, Eric has a vague impression that he was rescued by a girl with a beautiful voice; he vows to find her, and Ariel vows to find a way to join Eric. ("Part of Your World (reprise)")

Triton and his daughters notice a change in Ariel, who is openly lovesick. Triton questions Sebastian about Ariel's behavior, during which Sebastian accidentally reveals the incident with Eric. Triton furiously confronts Ariel in her grotto, using his trident to destroy her collection of human treasures. After Triton leaves, a pair of eels, Flotsam and Jetsam, convince a crying Ariel that she must visit Ursula the sea witch, if she wants all of her dreams to come true.

Ursula makes a deal with Ariel to transform her into a human for three days ("Poor, Unfortunate Souls"). Within these three days, Ariel must receive the 'kiss of true love' from Eric; otherwise, she will transform back into a mermaid on the third day and belong to Ursula. As payment for legs, Ariel has to give up her voice, which Ursula takes by magically removing the energy from Ariel's vocal chords and storing it in a nautilus shell. Ariel's tail is transformed into legs and Sebastian and Flounder drag her to the surface. Meanwhile, Triton discovers Ariel and Sebastian's disappearance and, wracked with guilt over his behavior, orders a search for them.

Eric and Max find Ariel on the beach. He initially suspects that she is the one who saved his life, but when he learns that she cannot speak, he discards the notion, to the frustration of both Ariel and Max (who know the truth). He helps her to the palace, where the servants think she is a survivor of a shipwreck. Ariel spends time with Eric, and at the end of the second day, they almost kiss ("Kiss the Girl") but are thwarted by Flotsam and Jetsam. Angered at their narrow escape, Ursula takes the disguise of a beautiful young woman named "Vanessa" and appears onshore singing with Ariel's voice. Eric recognizes the song and, in her disguise, Vanessa/Ursula casts a hypnotic enchantment on Eric to make him forget about Ariel.

The next day, Ariel finds out that Eric will be married to the disguised Ursula on a ship. She cries and is left behind when the wedding barge departs. Scuttle discovers that Vanessa is Ursula in disguise, and informs Ariel. As Ariel and Flounder chase the wedding barge, Sebastian informs Triton, and Scuttle is assigned to literally "stall the wedding." With the help of various animals, the nautilus shell around Ursula's neck is broken, restoring Ariel's voice and breaking Ursula's enchantment over Eric. Realizing that Ariel was the girl who saved his life, Eric rushes to kiss her, but the sun sets and Ariel transforms back into a mermaid. Ursula reverts to her true form and kidnaps Ariel.

Triton confronts Ursula and demands for Ariel's release although cannot as their deal is inviolable. He is convinced into taking his daughter's place and eventually does, much to Ursula's will. While Ariel is released, Triton transforms into a polyp and loses his reign of Atlantica. Ursula takes his place and declares herself as the new ruler. She is then intervened by Ariel and Eric, attacking and causing her to kill her minions, Flotsam and Jetsam. Enraged by this, Ursula begins to grow into titanic proportions on the seafloor.

Ariel and Eric reconcile on the surface just before Ursula grows past and towers the two. She then gains full control of the entire ocean, creating an storm with a maelstorm and shipwrecks, one of which Eric commandeers as Ursula attempts to destroy a trapped Ariel in the maelstorm. As she prepares to finish her, Eric turns the wheel hard to port and runs Ursula through the abdomen with the ship's splintered bowsprit, mortally wounding and destoying her. The ocean calms after her demise, where Eric makes it to shore before losing consciousness.

Due to her death, Ursula's power breaks, causing all the polyps in Ursula's garden, including Triton who would regain his reign, to revert back into their original forms. Later, after seeing that Ariel truly loves Eric and that he also saved her and the ocean in the process, Triton willingly changes her from a mermaid into a human permanently using his trident, where she reconciles with Eric once more.

An unspecified amount of time later, Ariel and Eric have their wedding on a ship, where both humans and merpeople could attend, before sailing away afterwards happily married.

Aurora & Prince Phillip

After many childless years, King Stefan and Queen Leah welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Aurora. The newborn Princess is named after the Roman Goddess of the dawn because of how she fills the lives of the King and Queen with sunshine. While still an infant, she is betrothed to the also-young Prince Phillip, son of King Hubert, so that the kingdoms of Stefan and Hubert will be forever united. At her christening, three good fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, arrive to bless the child with gifts. The first fairy ,Flora, gives the princess the gift of beauty, while the next fairy, Fauna, gives her the gift of song. Before Merryweather is able to give her blessing, a wicked witch named Maleficent appears, expressing disappointment of not being invited to the ceremony. Afterwards the evil enchantress curses the princess, that on her sixteenth birthday, before the sun sets, she will prick her finger on the spindal of a spinning wheel and die. After Maleficent disappears, the third fairy, Merryweather, is able to use her blessing to weaken the curse, so that instead of death, Aurora will fall into a deep sleep that can only be awaken by true love's kiss. Though King Stefan orders all spinning wheels in the kingdom to be burned, the three fairies know Maleficent's spell cannot be stopped that easily and devise a plan to protect her. With the King and Queen's consent, they disguise themselves as peasant women and sneak Aurora away with them to a woodland cottage until her sixteen birthday passes.

Years later, Aurora, renamed Briar-Rose, had grown into a gorgeous young woman with the blessings that Flora and Fauna bestowed to her. Sweet and gentle, she dreams of falling in love one day. As Rose gathers berries, while singing, she attracts the attention of Prince Phillip, now a handsome young man, as he is out riding his horse in the woods. When they meet, they instantly fall in love, Phillip believing her to be a peasant girl. Realizing that she has to return home, Rose flees from Phillip without ever learning his name. Later that day, the fairies reveal the truth to Rose and take her to her parents. Meanwhile, Phillip returns home telling his father of a peasant girl he met and wishes to marry in spite of his prearranged marriage to Princess Aurora. King Hubert tries to convince Phillip to marry the princess instead of the peasant girl, but fails. In the palace, Maleficent uses her magic to lure Aurora away from her family and up to a tower, where an enchanted spinning wheel awaits her. Spellbound by the wheel's fascination, Aurora touches the spindle, pricking her finger and completing the curse. The good fairies place Aurora on a bed and place a powerful charm on all the people in the kingdom, causing them to fall in a deep sleep until the spell is broken. Before falling asleep, King Hubert tells Stefan of his son being in love with a peasant girl, which allows the fairies to realize that Prince Phillip is the man Aurora has fallen in love with, and they search to find him, to convince him to kiss the princess and unbind the curse. However, the Prince had already been kidnapped by Maleficent and taken to the dungeons of her lair, to prevent him from breaking her spell. The fairies discover the Prince's whereabouts and sneak into Maleficent's castle and set free the prince. Armed with a magical Sword and Shield, Phillip and the fairies escape from the witch's prison. As the Prince desperately tries to reach the Princess, he finds himself battling a dragon, that Maleficent had transformed herself into. After a long fight in which his shield is destroyed, Phillip throws the sword, blessed by the fairies' magic, directly into Maleficent's heart, causing Maleficent to fall to her death from a cliff.

Phillip climbs to Aurora's chamber, and removes the curse with a kiss. As the film ends the two royals arrive at the ballroom, where Aurora is happily reunited with her parents, and she and Prince Phillip live happily ever after.

Tarzan & Jane

In the late 1880s off the coast of Africa, a married couple and their infant son escape a burning ship, ending up on land near uncharted rainforests (presumably West Africa). The couple craft themselves a treehouse from their ship's wreckage, but are subsequently killed by Sabor, a rogue leopardess. Kala (Glenn Close), a gorilla whose own son was killed and eaten by the vicious leopardess, hears the cries of the orphaned infant, and finds him in the ruined treehouse where the parents' dead bodies lie in a dark corner. Kala takes an instant liking to the baby. Kala is attacked by Sabor, who wants to kill and eat the baby, but Kala manages to get her tangled in the ropes holding the derelict rowboat, and she and the baby escape.

The kindly Kala takes the baby back to the gorilla troop to raise as her own, despite her mate Kerchak's (Lance Henriksen) disapproval. Kala raises the human child, naming him Tarzan (Alex D. Linz as a young boy, Tony Goldwyn as a young adult). Though he befriends other gorillas in the troop and other animals, including the young female gorilla Terk (Rosie O'Donnell) and the paranoid male elephant Tantor (Wayne Knight), Tarzan finds himself unable to keep up with them, and takes great efforts to improve himself. As a young man, Tarzan is able to kill Sabor with his crude spear and protect the troop, earning Kerchak's reluctant respect.

The gorilla troop's peaceful life is interrupted by the arrival of a team of human explorers from England, consisting of Professor Porter (Nigel Hawthorne), his daughter Jane (Minnie Driver) and their hunter-guide Clayton (Brian Blessed). Jane is accidentally separated from the group and chased by a pack of baboons. Tarzan saves her from the baboons, and recognizes that she is the same as he is, a human. Jane leads Tarzan back to the explorer's camp, where both Porter and Clayton take great interest in him-the former in terms of scientific progress while the latter hoping to have Tarzan lead him to the gorillas so that he can capture them and return with them to England. Despite Kerchak's warnings to be wary of the humans, Tarzan continues to return to the camp and be taught by Porter, Clayton, and Jane to speak English and learn of the human world, and both he and Jane begin to fall in love. However, they are having a hard time convincing Tarzan to lead him to the gorillas, due to Tarzan's fear for their safety from the threat of Kerchak.

When the explorers' boat returns to pick them up, Clayton persuades Tarzan that if he shows the group the gorillas, then Jane will stay with him. Tarzan agrees and leads the party to the gorilla troop's home, while Terk and Tantor lure Kerchak away to avoid having him attack the humans. Porter and Jane are excited to meet and mingle with the gorillas, but Kerchak returns and threatens to kill them after witnessing Clayton threatening some gorillas with his rifle. Kerchak heads directly towards Clayton but Tarzan is forced to hold Kerchak at bay while the humans escape, and then leaves the troop himself, alienated by his actions. Kala reluctantly takes Tarzan back to the treehouse where she found him as a baby, and shows him his true past.

Encouraged by Kala to follow his heart, Tarzan decides to leave with Jane, Clayton, and Professor Porter after saying a tearful goodbye to his adopted mother. When they return to the ship, they are all ambushed by pirates and it is then revealed that Clayton desires to capture and sell the gorillas in England for a fine price. Tarzan and the others are then locked up in the hull of the ship, but are rescued by Terk and Tantor and race back to the gorilla home.

Clayton and his men arrive back in the jungle and capture the gorillas. Making their way back to the Gorillas' home, Tarzan recruits some miscellaneous animal friends (baboons, rhinos etc.), and together they fight and/or scare away the rest of Clayton's men, imprisoning them in the very same cages they planned to imprison the gorillas in. As the rest of the gorillas (including Kala) are freed by Jane, Professor Porter, Terk and Tantor, Kerchak and Tarzan together battle Clayton; Kerchak is fatally shot, while Clayton chases Tarzan into the vine-covered trees, where Tarzan gets the drop on him, destroying Clayton's gun. Clayton pulls out a machete, in his haste to kill Tarzan, ignoring his warning about the vine wrapped around his neck. Once Clayton cuts the vine holding him up, he and Tarzan fall, but while Tarzan lands safely, Clayton is killed when the vine snaps his neck leaving him hanged. Kerchak, in his dying breath, accepts Tarzan as his own adopted son finally, and names him the leader of the gorilla troop.

The next day, as Porter and Jane prepare to leave on a rowboat, Tarzan reveals that he now plans to stay with the gorilla troop to continue his position as their new leader. As the ship leaves shore, Porter encourages his daughter to stay with the man she loves, and Jane jumps overboard to return to shore; Porter shortly follows her, telling the non-money-grubbing captain to tell the British that the crew never found them. The two are accepted into the gorilla troop where, as the song says, they are all finally "Two Worlds, One Family".

Snow White & Prince

Through a textual prologue told via a stop-motion storybook, the audience is told that Snow White is a princess living with her stepmother, a vain and wicked witch known only as the Queen. Fearing Snow White's beauty, the Queen forced her to work as a scullery maid and would daily ask her Magic Mirror "who is the fairest one of all". The mirror would always answer that the Queen was, pleasing her.

At the film's opening, the Magic Mirror informs the Queen that Snow White is now the fairest in the land. The jealous Queen orders her huntsman to take Snow White into the woods and kill her, demanding that he bring her the dead girl's heart in a jeweled box as proof of the deed. The huntsman, unwilling to harm Snow White, instead spares her life, and urges her to flee into the woods and never come back, bringing back a pig's heart instead.

Lost and frightened, the princess is befriended by woodland creatures who lead her to a cottage deep in the woods. Finding seven small chairs in the cottage's dining room, Snow White assumes the cottage is the untidy home of seven orphaned children. It soon becomes apparent that the cottage belongs instead to seven adult dwarfs, Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey, who work in a nearby mine. Returning home, they are alarmed to find their cottage clean and surmise that an intruder has invaded their home. The dwarfs find Snow White upstairs, asleep across three of their beds. The princess awakens, introduces herself, and all of the dwarfs (Grumpy is initially suspicious, but eventually warms to her) welcome her as a house guest after they learn she can cook. Snow White begins a new life cooking and keeping house for the dwarfs.

The Queen eventually discovers that Snow White is still alive when the mirror again answers that Snow White is the fairest in the land. Using magic to create a drink that will disguise herself as an old hag, the Queen goes to the cottage while the dwarfs are away and tricks Snow White into biting into a poisoned (magic wishing) apple that sends her into a deep sleep, which can only be broken by love's first kiss. As Snow White falls asleep the Queen exclaims "Now I'll be fairest in the land!" The vengeful dwarfs, alerted by the woodland animals who recognized the Queen, chase the Queen up a cliff and trap her. She tries to roll a boulder over them but lightning strikes the cliff she is standing on and she falls to her death.

The dwarfs return to their cottage and find Snow White seemingly dead. Unwilling to bury her body out of sight in the ground, they instead place her in a glass coffin trimmed with gold in a clearing in the forest. Together with the woodland creatures, they keep watch over her body through the seasons in an "eternal vigil".

After several seasons pass, a Prince who had previously met and fallen in love with Snow White, learns of her plight and visits her coffin. Captivated by her beauty, he kisses her, which breaks the spell and awakens her. The dwarfs and animals all rejoice as Snow White and the prince ride off to The Evil Queen's castle which glows in Snow White's presence.

The film ends with the last page of the storybook from the prologue which reads "...and they lived happily ever after." The book then closes as the film fades to its end title.

Hercules & Meg

Long after Zeus, ruler of the Greek gods of Mount Olympus, defeats the Titans and locks them deep in the bowels of the earth, he and his wife Hera give birth to a son, Hercules. All the gods of Olympus celebrate Hercules's birth except for Zeus's jealous brother Hades, who was forced by Zeus to work as lord of the dead in the Underworld, and seeks to overthrow his brother. Hades learns from the Fates that in eighteen years, a planetary alignment will reveal the location of where the Titans are trapped, allowing him to free them and take over Olympus, but only if Hercules doesn't interfere. Hades sends his minions Pain and Panic to kidnap Hercules, bring him to Earth, and kill him after giving him a potion that will turn him mortal. However, Pain and Panic are unable to give Hercules the entire potion which, while still making him mortal, allows him to retain his godlike strength. Hercules is then found by a farmer and his wife, who raise him as their own son.

Over the next eighteen years, Hercules grows up into a misfit, his strength seen as a nuisance to all the locals. After being rejected by the townsfolk when he accidentally destroys the marketplace, Hercules questions where he truly belongs. His foster parents reveal how they found him with a medallion bearing the symbol of the gods, so Hercules travels to the Temple of Zeus, where the almighty god's statue comes to life and reveals his past and true lineage. Zeus explains that Hercules can become a god again and return to Olympus if he can become a true hero, so he sets out on his old childhood friend Pegasus to find the satyr Philoctetes-"Phil" for short-a trainer of heroes. Phil has long-since retired after failing to train a successful hero, but is convinced to train Hercules.

After his training is complete, Hercules sets out with Phil and Pegasus to the city of Thebes to prove his newfound worth. Along the way, Hercules saves a woman named Megara-"Meg" for short-from being pestered by the centaur Nessus, and becomes attracted to her. Unbeknownst to Hercules, Meg is in league with Hades after selling her soul to save a man she once loved, but had left her for another woman. Discovering Hercules to still be alive, Hades sets up a trap for him outside of Thebes where he is forced to battle the Hydra. However, Hercules manages to defeat the Hydra, and is praised by all of Thebes as a hero. Hercules is treated like a celebrity, but Zeus informs him that he is not a true hero yet.

Meg is sent by Hades to find Hercules' weakness, but she falls in love with him instead. Phil discovers Meg to be working for Hades and attempts to warn Hercules, but abandons him after an ensuing argument. Realizing that Meg is Hercules' weakness, Hades uses her to make a deal with Hercules in which he must give up his powers for an entire day in exchange for Meg's safety, using this time to free the Titans and take over Olympus, while Hercules is crushed by Meg's deception and loses the will to fight. One of the Titans, a Cyclops, is sent to Thebes to eliminate Hercules. Meg convinces Phil to return to Hercules, motivating him into battling and defeating the Cyclops through improvisation. However, Meg is mortally wounded by a falling column to save Hercules, though it breaks Hades's deal of Meg not being harmed and restores Hercules's powers, allowing him to defeat the Titans. Unfortunately, he is too late to save Meg from dying.

Hercules confronts Hades in the Underworld and offers his soul to reclaim Meg's. Hades accepts, but only if Hercules can reclaim it in the River Styx, which gradually saps his life force as he swims. However, his will to sacrifice his life for Meg awakens Hercules as a true hero and restores his status as an immortal god. Hercules successfully retrieves Meg's soul and punches Hades into the River Styx, where he is dragged to the depths by vengeful souls. Hercules returns Meg's soul to her body and brings her back to life, and is brought to Olympus where the gods welcome him back into his old home. However, Hercules is unable to live without Meg, and Zeus allows him to stay on Earth as a mortal to stay with the one he loves. Zeus creates a constellation of Hercules in the night sky, allowing the world to hail him as a true hero.

Beast & Belle

In the film's prologue, an enchantress disguised as an old beggar woman offers a young prince a rose in exchange for a night's shelter. When he turns her away, she punishes him by transforming him into an ugly Beast and turning his servants into furniture and other household items. She gives him a magic mirror that will enable him to view faraway events, and she gives him the rose, which will bloom until his twenty-first birthday. He must love and be loved in return before all the rose's petals have fallen off, or he will remain a Beast forever.

Years later, a beautiful but unusual young woman named Belle lives in a nearby French village with her father Maurice, who is an inventor. Belle loves reading and yearns for a life beyond the village. She is courted by the arrogant local hero, Gaston, but has no interest in him.

Maurice's latest invention is a wood-chopping machine. When he rides through the woods to display the machine at a fair, he loses his way and stumbles upon the Beast's castle, where he meets the transformed servants Cogsworth, Lumiere, and Mrs. Potts and her son Chip. The Beast imprisons Maurice, but Belle is led back to the castle by Maurice's horse and offers to take her father's place. When the Beast agrees to this and sends him home, Maurice tells Gaston and the other villagers what happened, but they think he has lost his mind, so he goes to rescue Belle alone.

Meanwhile, the Beast orders Belle to dine with him, but she refuses, and Lumiere disobeys his order not to let her eat. After Cogsworth gives her a tour of the castle, she finds the rose in a forbidden area and the Beast angrily chases her away. Frightened, she tries to escape, but she and her horse are attacked by wolves. After the Beast rescues her, she nurses his wounds, he gives her the castle library as a gift, and they become friends. Later, they have an elegant dinner and a romantic ballroom dance. When he lets her use the magic mirror, she sees her father dying in the woods, and, with only hours left before the rose wilts, the Beast allows her to leave, giving her the mirror to remember him by. This horrifies the servants, who fear they will never be human again. As he watches her leave, the Beast admits to Cogsworth that he loves Belle.

Belle finds Maurice and takes him home, but Gaston arrives with a lynch mob. Unless she agrees to marry Gaston, the manager of the local madhouse will lock her father up. Belle proves Maurice sane by showing them the Beast with the magic mirror, but when she says the Beast is her friend and calls Gaston a "monster", he becomes murderously jealous, arouses the mob's anger against the Beast, and leads them to the castle to kill him. He locks Belle and Maurice in the basement, but Chip, who hid himself in Belle's baggage, chops the basement door apart with Maurice's machine.

While the servants drive the mob out of the castle, Gaston finds the Beast and attacks him. The Beast is initially too depressed to fight back, but he regains his will when he sees Belle arriving at the castle. After winning a heated battle, the Beast spares Gaston's life and climbs up to a balcony where Belle is waiting. Gaston follows the Beast and stabs him from behind, but loses his footing and falls to his death.

While the Beast is dying from his injuries, Belle whispers that she loves him, breaking the spell just before the last petal drops from the rose. The Beast comes back to life, and he and the servants become human again. The film ends as Belle and the prince dance in the ballroom with her father and the servants happily watching.

Cinderella & Prince Charming

Cinderella is the much-loved only child of a widowed aristocrat. After deciding that his beloved daughter needs a mother's care, Cinderella's father marries a proud and haughty woman named Lady Tremaine. She too has been married before, and has two daughters from her first marriage, Anastasia and Drizella. Plain and socially awkward, these stepsisters are bitterly envious of the beautiful and charming Cinderella.

The family lives in happiness for several years, until the death of Cinderella's father. After that, Lady Tremaine's true nature is revealed, and she and her spiteful daughters take over the estate, and begin to abuse and mistreat Cinderella, envious of her beauty. She is forced into becoming a scullery maid and made to wait upon her jealous stepsisters. As Cinderella blossoms into a beautiful young woman who is kind despite her hardships, she befriends the animals living in the barn and many of the mice and birds who live in and around the chateau.

At the royal palace, the King is distressed that his son does not intend to marry. The King is determined to see grandchildren, so he and the Duke organize a ball for Prince Charming in an effort to enable his son to fall in love and marry, with every eligible maiden in the kingdom requested to attend.

When the invitation to the ball arrives, Cinderella asks her stepmother if she can attend. Her stepmother promises her that she may attend to the ball, as long as she finishes her work and can find a suitable gown in time. To consume her time, her stepmother sets Cinderella with a mountain of chores. Her mouse friends Jag and Gus use Cinderella's stepsister's discarded sash and beads to fix an old gown that belonged to Cinderella's mother. When Cinderella wears her dress just before departing, Lady Tremaine sarcastically complements Cinderella's gown, subtly pointing out Drizella's beads and Anastasia's sash. The angered stepsisters tear the gown to shreds, leaving Cinderella to run to the back of the garden in tears while her stepfamily leaves for the royal ball without her.

Cinderella's Fairy Godmother appears to her in the garden. She bestows upon Cinderella a beautiful blue dress with glass slippers, and transforms a pumpkin and various animals into a carriage with horses. Cinderella departs for the ball after the godmother warns her that the spell will break at the stroke of midnight.

At the ball, the Prince rejects every girl, until he sees Cinderella, with whom he is immediately captivated by. The two dance alone throughout the castle grounds until the clock starts to chime midnight. Cinderella flees to her coach and away from the castle, accidentally dropping one of her glass slippers. After the Duke tells the King of the disaster, they plan to find Cinderella with the slipper they recovered during her exit.

The next morning, a royal proclamation is issued, stating the Grand Duke will visit every house in the kingdom to find the girl who fits the glass slipper, so that she can be married to the Prince. When this news reaches Cinderella's household, her stepmother and stepsisters begin hurriedly preparing for the Grand Duke's arrival. Cinderella, overhearing, begins dreamily humming the song from the palace ball the previous night. Upon the shocking revelation that Cinderella is the girl who danced with the Prince, Lady Tremaine follows Cinderella up to her attic bedroom and locks her inside.

When the Grand Duke arrives, the mice steal the key to Cinderella's room from Lady Tremaine's pocket and laboriously drag the key up the stairs to her room. They are ambushed by Lady Tremaine's malevolent cat Lucifer, but are then rescued by Bruno, Cinderella's bloodhound, who scares Lucifer out of the house. As the Duke prepares to leave after the stepsisters unsuccessfully try on the slipper, Cinderella appears and requests to try it on. Knowing that the slipper will fit and that Cinderella will marry the Prince, her stepmother trips the footman over while he is carrying the slipper, causing it to drop and shatter into hundreds of pieces. The Duke laments over the broken slipper, but Cinderella then reveals she has kept the other glass slipper, much to her stepmother's chagrin. Delighted at this indisputable proof of the maiden's identity, the Duke slides the slipper onto her foot, which fits perfectly. The two agree to keep the broken slipper a secret.

At the wedding, Cinderella and the Prince descend the church's staircase, surrounded by confetti tossed by the King, the Grand Duke and the mice, now in uniform apparently as part of the Royal Guard. The film ends on a scene of the two newly-weds kissing.

Aladdin & Jasmin

Jafar, Grand Vizier to the Sultan of the fictional kingdom of Agrabah, is attempting to retrieve a magical oil lamp containing a genie from the Cave of Wonders. After seeing a petty thief's failed attempt to enter the cave, he and his talking parrot, Iago, learn that only a "Diamond in the Rough" can enter the cave, or anyone accompanied by him.

Jasmine, the Sultan's daughter, frustrated with "having her life lived for her" and the obligation of royal marriage to a prince, escapes the palace and goes to Agrabah's marketplace in disguise. There she meets street rat Aladdin and his monkey, Abu. The two discover they have a lot in common. When Aladdin is captured and jailed for thievery, Jasmine orders him released, but Jafar lies to her, telling her Aladdin has already been executed.

Jafar, disguised as an elderly man, releases Aladdin from prison and leads him to the Cave of Wonders. The tiger-shaped head of the cave tells him to touch nothing but the lamp. Aladdin enters the cave and encounters a magic carpet which guides him to the lamp. Abu tries to steal a ruby, which brings upon them the wrath of the Cave of Wonders, but the carpet flies them to the entrance. Jafar tries to kill Aladdin after getting the lamp, but Abu bites Jafar and gets the lamp back. Abu, the carpet and Aladdin fall back into the cave just as it closes. Jafar beams at finally getting the lamp; however, he cries out in agony when he realizes he does not have it.

When Aladdin awakens, Abu reveals that he sneakily took the lamp from Jafar. While trying to read an inscription on the lamp, Aladdin rubs it, unleashing the Genie, who reveals he will grant Aladdin three wishes-with the exception of killing anyone, making anyone fall in love, or bringing back the dead. Aladdin dupes Genie into freeing them from the cave without using a wish. While contemplating his wishes, Aladdin asks for Genie's opinion. Genie admits he would wish for freedom, since he is a prisoner to his lamp. Aladdin promises to free the Genie for his last wish. He then tells Genie about Jasmine, and knows that the only way to be noticed by her is if he is a prince. For his first wish, Aladdin asks to become a prince so he can woo Jasmine.

Jafar laments his failure to get the lamp but, thanks to Iago, decides to trick the Sultan into arranging a marriage between himself and Jasmine, plotting to kill both the princess and her father once he has done so. His plans are interrupted when Aladdin parades into the Sultan's palace as "Prince Ali". Jasmine rejects Ali, considering him a spoiled buffoon like all the other suitors before him. That night, Genie advises Aladdin to tell the princess who he really is, but Aladdin decides to remain the suave prince. He meets Jasmine, and after some convincing, takes her around the world on the magic carpet. During a fireworks show in China, Jasmine recognizes Ali as the boy from the marketplace. She demands the truth from him, but Aladdin instead fabricates a story that he sometimes dresses as a commoner to escape palace life. Aladdin returns her home and they kiss.

After parting with Jasmine, Aladdin is captured by Jafar and thrown into the ocean. But the Genie rescues Aladdin as his second wish. Aladdin returns to the palace, revealing Jafar's plot to Jasmine and the Sultan. Jafar, however, notices the lamp in Aladdin's possession, realizes who Aladdin truly is, and escapes from the Sultan's bodyguards. Aladdin then faces a moral dilemma. Jasmine has fallen in love with Ali, not Aladdin, and if she ever finds out who he really is, he fears he will lose her. Much to Genie's chagrin, Aladdin decides he cannot use his third wish to free Genie, driving a wedge between the two. Iago, on Jafar's orders, steals Genie's lamp and brings it to Jafar, who becomes Genie's new master and uses his first wish to become Sultan. When Jasmine and the Sultan refuse to bow to him, Jafar uses his second wish to become the most powerful sorcerer in the world, using his new powers not only to force them to bow, but also to expose Aladdin as a street rat, then to send him and his friends to "the ends of the Earth."

Banished to a frozen wasteland, Aladdin uses the magic carpet to return to Agrabah, where Jafar has imprisoned both Jasmine and the Sultan as his slaves. Jasmine distracts Jafar with a seductive act as Aladdin tries to steal back the lamp, but Jafar notices and attacks him. Jafar, as a monstrous snake, boasts that he is "the most powerful being on Earth", which causes Aladdin to shout out that Genie is more powerful. Faced with this realization, Jafar uses his final wish to become an 'all-powerful genie,' but is then surprised when Aladdin reminds him that genies are not free entities as he is sucked into his new black lamp, dragging Iago with him. Genie flicks the lamp across the desert and into the Cave of Wonders.

Jasmine realizes that Aladdin played the role of a prince for her because of the law. Genie suggests that Aladdin use his final wish to become a prince again, but realizing that he cannot keep pretending to be something he is not, Aladdin decides to keep his promise and wish for Genie's freedom, much to Genie's surprise and happiness. Seeing Jasmine's love for Aladdin, the Sultan changes the law to allow her to marry whomever she deems worthy. The newly free Genie leaves to explore the world while Aladdin and Jasmine celebrate their engagement.

Pongo and Perdita

Pongo is a dalmatian that lives in a London bachelor flat with his owner Roger Radcliffe, a songwriter. Bored with bachelor life, Pongo decides to find a wife for Roger and a mate for himself. While watching various female dog-human pairs out the window, he spots the perfect couple, a woman named Anita and her female dalmatian, Perdita. He quickly gets Roger out of the house and drags him through the park to arrange a meeting. Pongo accidentally causes both Roger and Anita to fall into a pond, but it works out well as the couple falls in love. Both the human couple and the dog couple marry.

Later, Perdita gives birth to 15 puppies. One almost dies, but Roger is able to revive it by rubbing it in a towel (because of which, they would name the pup, "Lucky"). That same night, they are visited by Cruella De Vil, a wealthy former schoolmate of Anita's. She offers to buy the entire litter of puppies for a large sum, but Roger says they are not selling any of the puppies. Weeks later, she hires Jasper and Horace Badun to steal all of the puppies. When Scotland Yard is unable to prove she stole them or find the puppies, Pongo and Perdita use the "Twilight Bark", normally a canine gossip line, to ask for help from the other dogs in England.

Colonel, an old sheepdog, along with his compatriots Captain, a gray horse, and Sergeant Tibbs, a tabby cat, find the puppies in a place called Hell Hall (A.K.A The De Vil Place), along with other Dalmatian puppies that Cruella had purchased from various dog stores. Tibbs learns the puppies are going to be made into dog-skin fur coats and the Colonel quickly sends word back to London. Upon receiving the message, Pongo and Perdita immediately leave London to retrieve their puppies. Meanwhile, Tibbs overhears Cruella ordering the Baduns to kill and render the puppies that night out of fear the police will soon find them. In response, Tibbs attempts to rescue the puppies himself while the Baduns are watching the television, but they finish their show and come for them before Tibbs can get the puppies out of the house. Pongo and Perdita burst through a window just as the Baduns have cornered them and are about to kill them. While the adult dogs attack the two men, Colonel and Tibbs guide the puppies from the house.

After a happy reunion with their own puppies, the Pongos realize there are 84 other puppies with them. shocked at Cruella's plans, they decide to adopt all of the puppies, certain that Roger and Anita would never reject them. The dogs begin making their way back to London, aided by other animals along the way, with Cruella and the Baduns giving chase. In one town, they cover themselves with soot so they appear to be labrador retrievers, then pile inside a moving van going back to London. As the van is leaving, melting snow clears off the soot and Cruella sees them. In a maniacal rage, she follows the van in her car and rams it, but the Baduns, trying to cut off the van from above, end up colliding with her. Both vehicles crash into a deep ravine. Cruella yells in frustration as the van drives away.

Back in London, Roger and Anita are attempting to celebrate Christmas and Roger's first big hit, a song about Cruella, but they miss their canine friends. Suddenly barking is heard outside and after their nanny opens the door, the house is filled with dogs. After wiping away more of the soot, the couple is delighted to realize their companions have returned home. They decide to use the money from the song to buy a large house in the country so they can keep all 101 Dalmatians.

Rapunzel & Flynn

An elderly woman named Gothel witnesses a single drop of pure sunlight hit the ground, creating a magical flower with the ability to heal the sick and injured. She uses it to keep herself young by singing to it. Years later, the queen of a nearby kingdom falls ill while expecting a child. Her guards, searching for a cure, find the mysterious flower. They make a broth out of the flower, which heals the queen and she gives birth to a girl named Rapunzel. Gothel learns that Rapunzel's golden hair retains the flower's healing abilities, but if it's cut, it turns brown and loses its magic power. Gothel kidnaps the child and isolates her in a tower, raising the girl as her own daughter. However, every year on Rapunzel's birthday, the kingdom sends thousands of floating lanterns into the sky longing for their lost princess to return.

Eighteen years later, Rapunzel lives in the tower with her pet chameleon, Pascal. While happy to be safe in her tower, she yearns to see the outside world, and more importantly the floating lights. Rapunzel asks Gothel to let her see the floating lights on her birthday, but Gothel denies her request, saying the world is full of people who would covet her abilities for themselves. Meanwhile, thieves led by Flynn Rider steal the tiara of the missing princess from the castle. Flynn abandons his accomplices and stumbles upon Rapunzel's tower, choosing it as a hideout. During the chase, the lead guard's horse, Maximus, is separated from his rider and continues the search for Flynn on his own. Once inside the tower, Flynn is knocked unconscious by Rapunzel, who then imprisons him in her wardrobe and hides his satchel with the tiara in it.

Rapunzel tells Gothel that she wants a special paint for her birthday instead of her earlier request. Gothel agrees, and after she leaves, Rapunzel makes a deal with Flynn - if he escorts her to the lights and back, she will return the tiara. While Rapunzel is excited to be free, she is soon conflicted between her freedom and her guilt of disobedience. While traveling, the two visit the Snuggly Duckling Tavern, which appears to be full of thugs like Gothel warned Rapunzel about, but they all each have their own dreams, just as Rapunzel does. As the royal guards continue their search, Gothel learns of the pursuit, returns to the tower and finds Rapunzel gone. The tavern regulars help the pair escape from the guards, but they eventually corner Flynn at a man-made dam, which Maximus inadvertently causes to collapse. Trapped in a flooding cave, Flynn cuts his hand while trying to save them but it's too dark to see anything. Thinking they are going to die, Flynn tells Rapunzel that someone should know his real name is Eugene Fitzherbert, and Rapunzel tells Flynn she has magic hair that glows when she sings. She starts singing and her hair, which is 70 feet (21 m) long, begins to glow, enabling them to escape safely. Later around a campfire, Rapunzel heals Flynn's cut, telling him the reason she never tried to escape her tower and Flynn tells her his reason for becoming a thief. They look into each other's eyes and start to fall in love. Flynn goes off to gather more firewood, but while he's gone, Gothel secretly meets with Rapunzel, who tells Gothel she has feelings for Flynn, and thinks Flynn has feelings for her. Gothel tells Rapunzel that Flynn is only after the tiara, claiming that he will leave once he has it and, giving her Flynn's satchel, tells Rapunzel to put him to the test. When Flynn comes back, fearing what her mother said could be true, Rapunzel hides the tiara for the time being.

The next morning, Maximus confronts Flynn again, but Rapunzel befriends the horse and the group travels together to the royal kingdom and throughout the day, Rapunzel and Flynn begin to fall for each other. That night, Rapunzel tells Flynn she's scared her dream won't be everything she hoped it would be, but Flynn tells her it will be. The lanterns rise and Flynn gives Rapunzel a lantern and in return she gives him his satchel back. She tells him she was scared to before but wasn't anymore and asked him if he understood. Flynn looks into her eyes and, pushing the satchel aside, tells her he's starting to. Flynn attempts to kiss Rapunzel, but seeing his former accomplices, Flynn decided to try to give them the tiara, but the pair are now working with Gothel. They make it appear that Flynn is escaping with the tiara by knocking him unconscious, tying him up in a boat and sailing him across the lake so Rapunzel can see. Then they try to kidnap Rapunzel so they can sell her hairs' power. Betraying the thieves, Gothel "rescues" the heartbroken Rapunzel and takes her back to the tower. Meanwhile, Flynn wakes up and realizes Rapunzel is in danger, but is seen by the guards, so he tries to call out to her. However Maximus had seen Flynn's arrest, and heard him talking about Rapunzel being in trouble and sneaks off to get the pub thugs. Flynn, sentenced to be hanged for his crimes learns of the treachery from the now-captured henchmen. The Snuggly Duckling regulars rescue Flynn and deliver him to Maximus. Flynn then sets off to the tower to rescue Rapunzel.

Meanwhile, Rapunzel realizes that she is actually the long-lost princess, and confronts Gothel with the revelation saying she will never let her use her hair again, infuriating Gothel. Flynn reaches the tower, but upon entering, he sees Rapunzel bound and gagged and is stabbed by Gothel. Rapunzel tries to get Flynn, but it's no use. So she pledges to remain with Gothel forever if she can heal Flynn's wounds. Gothel agrees, but before Rapunzel can heal him, Flynn, saying that he would rather die than have her trapped forever, cuts her hair short with a piece of broken mirror, destroying its healing power. Gothel screams in horror as her true age begins to catch up to her, and as she writhes, she trips on Rapunzel's hair and falls out of the tower window, turning to dust before she even hits the ground. Flynn and Rapunzel reveal their love for each other, then Flynn dies of his wounds. Heartbroken, she sings the incantation to him, even though her hair's power is gone. A magic tear lands on his cheek and heals Flynn's wound and brings him back to life. Overjoyed, they share their first kiss. Maximus takes Flynn, Rapunzel and Pascal to the castle, where the royal family is reunited at last. Flynn is pulled into the embrace, and after a celebration of Rapunzel's return, Flynn (the narrator throughout the movie) reveals that some years later he and Rapunzel are married, and they live happily ever after as the pub thugs fulfil their individual dreams, and Maximus becomes a respected official on the Royal Guard.
